  1. Do they charge reschedule fees?

This is something really important that you can ask your photographer because since last year a lot of other couples have been rescheduling their big day. So after one year, if your photographer hadn’t a reschedule plan, we’re very sure that they have it by now! Of course, every person works differently, but due to the actual circumstances, they may not even charge you any fees! Don’t be afraid to get in touch with your photographer and ask all the questions that you have in your mind. They are happy to make your photographic experience go the best way possible.

  2. What are their cancellation policies?

Unfortunately, due to restrictions from your local authorities, you may be obligated to cancel your wedding! (***crying face***) If you really have to cancel, and if you aren’t able to reschedule it for another date, try to talk with your photographer to see his/her cancellation policies. You may even try to “break a deal” with your photographer since the main motive of the cancellation was covid! But remember, since you signed a contract, be sure to review it and understand what the conditions are, before you talk with your photographer.

  3. What is their 2024 schedule like in case of having to reschedule?

Ultimately, we do recommend you reschedule instead of a cancellation. Don’t let this virus kill your love!! Thousands of couples are preferring to just reschedule, be one of them! (***happy face***) Before you decide on a date and set it in stone with all your other wedding suppliers, please check first with your photographer. He also may have other couples that reschedule their wedding to 2024 or that have booked their big day directly in 2024. If you don’t talk with your photographer first, you may have the risk of him/her already having your date booked, and then, you would have to cancel with him/her! But, if you take the initiative to cancel then you are totally dependent on his/her cancellation policies or what you signed on your contract! It’s super important that you maintain open communication with your photographer.

  4. Do they have a “marry now, celebrate later” plan or package for you?

This can be something super useful and that literally can save your big day!! Imagine that you decide to go forward and have your civil wedding on your initial date, with all the restrictions involved, and you will only have your big party later on another date. If your photographer does a “marry now, celebrate later” kind of plan or package or can create something personalised for you, you will be able to have him/her capture the official day when you guys got married (that’s a special day to remember in the future and to have it captured by a professional + not on your Aunt Karen’s phone) and then your photographer will also be registering your big party at a later date! Woohoo!

  5. Are they comfortable with traveling for a destination wedding?

Due to all the restrictions going on right now, you may decide to have a change of plans, do something different, and have a destination wedding. If you already booked your photographer, and you love him/her, and also would like to have him/her capturing your special day, feel free to approach him/her and share your thoughts! A good brainstorming never hurt anybody! Your photographer may love the idea and be super down to adapt his agenda to your new plan, and you won’t have the need to cancel with him/her. Of course, that may have additional costs since it will be at a different location from the one that you guys initially agreed on, but, if you love your photographer that may be worth it.

Remember: you will be looking at and showing your wedding photos for the rest of your life! That’s a lifetime investment!!
