VINTAGE GLAM WEDDING IN LISBON

CATHERINE & THEODORE

An art historian and producer, the bride sought to create a romantic celebration that seamlessly wove together her and her groom’s shared love of art, film and music. During the ceremony, held in a 17th-century chapel adorned with the region’s iconic blue-and-white azulejo tiles, Brazilian jazz singer Anna Setton performed Milton Nascimento and Wayne Shorter’s “Ponta de Areia.” Her serenade echoed melancholic saudade—a nod to the couple’s love for the Lusophonic spirit. The bride wore a satin sleeved gown by Canadian bridal designer Aesling. Its sculptural draping was reminiscent of Ava Gardner’s iconic look in the 1948 film One Touch of Venus—a subtle tribute to her late grandfather, whose favorite film inspired her choice. The look was crowned with a custom teardrop pearl veil by Greek designer Di Petsa, an homage to her groom’s heritage. The groom, dressed in a Bonobos tuxedo and Allen Edmonds shoes, added a sentimental touch to his ensemble with an heirloom Rolex and silver cufflinks from Portuguese jeweler Leitão & Irmão, a gift from the bride.
