Alex and Laura, both based in England and working in film and production, brought that same instinct for pacing and detail to their wedding day at Spatia Comporta, a design-led retreat on Portugal's Alentejo coast known for its clean lines and warm, Palm Springs-inspired architecture. The two had been close friends for months before they got together, and eleven years later, they married, surrounded by many of the same friends who had watched it all begin.
The couple wanted the day to feel unscripted: no dress code, no formal three-course dinner, no pressure on guests to behave a particular way. That looseness showed up everywhere, most memorably when much of the wedding party ended up fully clothed in the pool by early evening. Laura's fashion-forward bridal look, paired with Alex's tailored sage green suit, gave the photographs an editorial edge that never felt posed.
We photographed the day on both digital and film, leaning into the warmth and texture that film brings to a celebration built around sunshine, pool afternoons, and dancing under string lights. The wedding was later published in Together Journal.
